The club’s origins can be traced back to the workers at George Salter’s Spring Works in West Bromwich who began a football team, initially known as the ‘Strollers.’ The club was renamed as West Bromwich Albion in 1880, adopting the town’s coat of arms as their crest.

In their early days, West Brom played their games at numerous grounds around West Bromwich before they eventually settled at their current ground, The Hawthorns, in 1900. The Hawthorns remains their official home ground, with a seating capacity of 26,484 spectators.

Key Achievements

Over the years, West Brom has won several significant titles and accolades that mark its contributions to football. Among the club’s major achievements are the five FA Cup titles secured in 1888, 1892, 1931, 1954, and 1968.
