Playing for the Grand Rapids Drive and later the Windy City Bulls, Dinwiddie’s hard work culminated in an improved game that garnered him another opportunity in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets.

It was with the Brooklyn Nets that Dinwiddie truly made his mark on the NBA. Due to team injuries and his improved level of play, he rapidly went from a bench player to starting lineup. His performance during clutch moments, as well as efficient playmaking abilities, were crucial in reviving a previously struggling Nets franchise. Gifted with size for his position, he leveraged this physical attribute to become an all-around threat to opposing teams.
Move to Washington Wizards
In 2021, Dinwiddie was involved in a sign-and-trade deal that brought him to the Washington Wizards as part of a restructuring move by the Nets. Although he left Brooklyn with high esteem from the fans and organization alike, Dinwiddie looked forward to serving as a key figure in Washington’s lineup, showcasing his abilities on a new platform.
